Mosquitoes

DESCRIPTION:

Mosquitoes are small flies (about ¼ inch) that are usually active in the evening. They are characterized by white markings on their legs and wings.

BIOLOGY:

(Culex spp., Anopheles spp., Aedes spp.) The immature stages of mosquitoes live in standing water and feed on microscopic organisms. The adult females are parasites and require a blood meal to develop their eggs. The adults usually remain close to their breeding site.
